Training and education for youth and high school athletes, coaches and parents

"Working with your program this past basketball season was a great learning experience for myself and our program.  With your expertise in strength and conditioning our team was quicker than most teams and our conditioning allowed us to finish strong every game.  Our team became one at your very first strength and conditioning session, your aggressive approach to success and the development of each of our players has given our team the foundation we needed to build our pyramid of success."

Becoming a Better Athlete

Being skilled in a particular sport is a great thing, but skill alone does not guarantee success.  However, skill in combination with improved athleticism will raise the ceiling for you in all aspects of a sport.

When a basketball player takes a shot or a soccer player puts one on the net everyone looks at the skill of that athlete, but what no one notices is the ability to decelerate, the strength, mobility, balance and coordination necessary to perform those skills.

Our job is to enhance your athleticism and these are the steps we take to help you achieve that:

Step 1:  History

To design the most effective training program for you, we need to learn as much about you as possible: your injury history (new, old, current, recurrent), what sports you play, what position you play, when you practice, how you practice, any detailed training experience you've had and more.  The more information we have, the better the program we can design.

Step 2:  Assessment

Taking a thorough history will help guide us through your assessment.  In the assessment we look at the mobility and stability of your joints, flexibility and strength.  Our aim is to find the  "kinks in your armor".  We'll look for differences in the right and left sides of your body as asymmetries are key predictors of injury.  The type of assessment we do will be based on your biological and training ages.

Step 3:  Program Design

The information gathered in your history and assessment is crucial in designing a program that will meet your needs.  Not only will we seek to correct any deficiencies found in the assessment, but we want to design a comprehensive and progressive program that will result in your becoming a better athlete.

Step 4:  Program Implementation

Now the fun begins!  Everything we do will lead to the ultimate goal--to make you a stronger, faster and a more efficient mover while reducing your injury risk.  You'll learn a variety of movement and exercise techniques, health maintenance strategies and, hopefully, something about yourself.

Step 5:  Re-Assessment

Periodically we will perform re-assessments so we can check your progress.  Re-assessments will tell us if we're on the right path or if adjustments need to be made so you experience the maximum benefit from your training program.

Testimonials

"I was looking for a functional total body strengthening and balance program to prepare me for the ski season and that is what I received from Cavalieri Strength and Conditioning.  I was one who believed you couldn't get results working out only 2 days/week for 45-60 minutes, but I did, right in my living room, in only two months.  Nick is very professional and knowledgeable and with his guidance I lost inches and gained the strength and balance I was looking for.  When it comes time to resume my program I will be calling Cavalieri Strength and Conditioning."

"My experience with Cavalieri Strength and Conditioning has helped me attain my strength and conditioning goals.  Within a couple of months I became not only stronger, but faster also.  These training sessions have had a significant affect on my strength and conditioning.  I plan to continue with Cavalieri Strength and Conditioning in the future."

Meghan Face, PHS Varsity Basketball

"I began working with Cavalieri Strength and Conditioning almost 6 months ago.  I knew after my second shoulder surgery that I was going to have to make a change to improve my overall fitness to meet the physical demands of my job.  Nick designed a plan that best suited my needs as well as being flexible with workout times to fit my busy schedule.  Workouts are challenging, but enjoyable--so unlike my gym visits.  I always look forward to my next workout."
